نفى الفنان القدير فاروق فلوكس جميع الشائعات التي ترددت حول إعتزاله للفن وذلك خلال حفل تكريمه الذي أقيم بالمسرح القومي بحضور الدكتورة إيناس عبدالدايم والعديد من قيادات وزارة الثقافة.
وقال الفنان فاروق فلوكس في تصريح خاص لمجلة كلاسي : أنا ليس لدي حيلة في ظهوري أو إختفائي عن الفن، فالفنان عندما يتقدم في العمر تقل فرصة ظهوره بشكل كبير.
وإستكمل قائلا : وعندما يتقدم بنا العمر يقل الطلب علينا وذلك لعدة أسباب وأولها أن الفنان لم يعد محتفظ بمظهره الشاب اللائق بالأدوار الحالية ولياقته البدنية الجيدة.
وأضاف الفنان فاروق فلوكس : فكلما تقدم عمر الفنان أُرسل إليه المخرجين والمنتجين أدوار لا تناسبه، لا فنيا ولا تناسب تاريخيه الفني الكبير في السينما والمسرح والتليفزيون.
واختتم الفنان فاروق فلوكس حديثه لمجلة كلاسي قائلا : إلى الآن لم أستطع أن أقرر أنني إعتزلت أم لا بسبب عدم إرسال أدوار جديدة تجعلني أحدد هل سأكمل المسيرة أم سأعتزل بشكل نهائي.
